SMCN’s Yoga Teacher Training and Certification Program is an in depth mentoring experience designed to draw out and develop your unique talents and abilities as a yoga teacher. Though trainees participate in many group activities, each trainee receives individual mentoring from Kathleen Grace Santor and the staff.

Every aspect of teaching yoga is addressed during the training from anatomy of asanas and the breath to the meaning of chakras and the lives of great yoga masters.

This program emphasizes the importance of assessing your yoga students’ needs and limitations, use of effective teaching skills, your personal practice as your primary source of inspiration as a teacher and specific knowledge of the components of correct form and breath in yoga asanas and movements. Skill through supervised teaching, knowledge through study and awareness through personal practice combine to yield the exceptional teachers we are proud to certify at both the 200 and 500 hour levels.

Areas of particular interest to each trainee, such as teaching children, seniors or prenatal yoga, are incorporated as appropriate, throughout their training.

Kathleen Grace Santor, M.Ed., Ed.S., CYT, RYT 500 is the director of the Stress Management Center of Nevada where she teaches yoga classes and trains 200 and 500 hour level yoga teachers. Kathleen integrates her knowledge and experience as a counselor, specialist in stress management and yoga teacher to create a well rounded teacher training program that helps trainees learn to approach their students with both sensitivity and skill.
